Contribute to beautiful, inspiring, and well-maintained public gardens. Gardening Outdoors begins in April and concludes in mid-November, dependent on the weather. 

April-May ~ Take part in Green House transplanting and dividing plants, adding compost and mulch to the flowerbeds, cutting back plants, and removing mulch from roses and planting roses. Spring cleaning in the gardens consists of sweeping, picking up twigs and leaves and other debris.

May-June ~ Beautiful summer landscapes require planting annual and perennials flowerbeds, watering plants and fertilizing roses, and of course, mulching, weeding, dead-heading, and digging spent spring-flowering bulbs.

June-Sept ~ Maintain the gardens by weeding, mulching, pruning, dead-heading, and staking plants, as well as sweeping, and raking leaves.

Sept-Nov ~Help prepare for winter and next spring by planting bulbs and perennials, cleaning up beds, mulching, and putting roses to bed.

A legal guardian does not financially support the ward, take care of the ward on a day to day basis, nor personally provide a place for the ward to live. Time commitment is based on the needs of the ward.

Volunteers receive training and support from the Brown County Adult Protective Services Unit. A stipend of $15.00 per ward-per month, mileage, and reimbursement for expenses such as copying legal paperwork, postage is available upon request.

About Altrusa Hospitality House:

Located within the warm embrace of the Altrusa Hospitality House, our fully equipped kitchen stands ready to be a source of nourishment and comfort for families facing medical challenges away from home. Equipped with a stove, oven, microwaves, plates, utensils, and more, our kitchen serves as the heart of our mission to support guests during their stay.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Groups of 1-10 people, including families, companies, teams, and other organizations, are invited to participate in our Meal Hero Program. Volunteers can provide, prepare (either onsite or off), serve, and share a delicious meal with our families. Key Information:

Meal Flexibility: Frozen or easily frozen meals are highly encouraged, as guests may not always return in time for dinner. About Altrusa Hospitality House:

Located within the warm embrace of the Altrusa Hospitality House, our fully equipped kitchen stands ready to be a source of nourishment and comfort for families facing medical challenges away from home. Equipped with a stove, oven, microwaves, plates, utensils, and more, our kitchen serves as the heart of our mission to support guests during their stay.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Groups of 1-10 people, including families, companies, teams, and other organizations, are invited to participate in our Meal Hero Program. Volunteers can provide, prepare (either onsite or off), serve, and share a delicious meal with our families. The number of servings needed depends on the current occupancy of the house.  Calendar for Sign up dates located HERE.

Key Information:

Meal Flexibility: Frozen or easily frozen meals are highly encouraged, as guests may not always return in time for dinner. Onsite Engagement: Volunteers are welcome to stay, eat with our guests, and engage in meaningful conversations during the mealtime. Group participation is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Individuals Welcome:

Even if you're not part of a group, individual volunteers are more than welcome to contribute their time, culinary skills, and companionship.

Flexible Options:

Whether you prefer preparing meals at home, in person, or virtually, we welcome your contribution. Volunteers can prepare meals offsite and drop them off for guests, providing a convenient option for those unable to join us in person.

The mission of Vida Medical Clinic and Support Services is to provide medical, mentoring, material, and maternity housing support to empower individuals to make life-affirming decisions. A Christian, nonprofit organization based in Appleton, Wisconsin, our free services and compassionate care ensure men and women feel supported when facing an unplanned pregnancy or parenting an infant or small children under challenging circumstances. Our vision is that our community will embrace a life-affirming culture that promotes and defends the God-given value of all human persons.

Vida Medical Clinic and Support Services has been able to provide pregnancy and parenting resources, education, and support to thousands of women, men, and families for nearly four decades because of the generosity of many volunteers who share their time and talents in service to others.

All of our Support Services clients receiving parenting education can request childcare for their appointment. Our childcare volunteers interact, supervise, and play with children in our on-site childcare room. This role is extremely crucial to our programming so that we can better serve our clients by providing them the opportunity to get a break and have privacy for their appointments.

As a Little Dear Boutique volunteer, you would be helping sort store donations, restocking the shelves, assisting clients, and completing cleaning or other organization tasks. Our store volunteers love being able to interact with clients as well as get to know other volunteers.
