Contribute to beautiful, inspiring, and well-maintained public gardens. Gardening Outdoors begins in April and concludes in mid-November, dependent on the weather. 

April-May ~ Take part in Green House transplanting and dividing plants, adding compost and mulch to the flowerbeds, cutting back plants, and removing mulch from roses and planting roses. Spring cleaning in the gardens consists of sweeping, picking up twigs and leaves and other debris.

May-June ~ Beautiful summer landscapes require planting annual and perennials flowerbeds, watering plants and fertilizing roses, and of course, mulching, weeding, dead-heading, and digging spent spring-flowering bulbs.

June-Sept ~ Maintain the gardens by weeding, mulching, pruning, dead-heading, and staking plants, as well as sweeping, and raking leaves.

Sept-Nov ~Help prepare for winter and next spring by planting bulbs and perennials, cleaning up beds, mulching, and putting roses to bed.

Volunteer involvement in providing meals at Freedom House is vital to serving our families. It is a great opportunity to share your gift of cooking.

The goal of Meal Teams is to provide a steady stream of home-cooked meals for the 16 families residing at Freedom House.

Donate a meal for the families staying at Freedom House to enjoy!  Stay to serve the meal or choose to drop it off.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at House of Hope! We have volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups. Individuals must be age 16 or older to volunteer on their own. Youth under age 16 are welcome to volunteer with an adult. Please sign up to receive more information.

Celebration Dinner: Provide a meal for the youth and families in shelter on the third Wednesday of the month. Meals must be prepared off site. Anyone can sign up—a volunteer application and orientation are not required. Celebration dinner volunteers do not interact with House of Hope residents.

Administrative Support: Data entry, scanning and filing, shredding paper, social media content creation, etc.

Boutique: Sort and wash clothing and linen donations, organize and fold/hang clothes, rotate seasonal items, keep the boutique clean and organized.

Childcare: Take care of children while their parents are in programming; shifts are typically 1-2 hours.

Cleaning: Wash windows; vacuum/mop floors; disinfect surfaces; clean upholstery; deep clean kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms; clean rental units between tenants, etc.

Events or Donation Drives: Plan and execute fundraising events or donation drives with support from staff; assist with House of Hope events.

Facility Maintenance: Pick up trash, trim hedges, do yardwork, fix broken furniture, change lightbulbs, etc.

Gardening: Plant, weed, and maintain garden beds and landscaping.

Organizing: Track and sort donations; organize basement storage areas, closets, and pantries; etc.

Painting: Assist with painting interior walls at House of Hope properties. Need not be a professional but painting experience is required.

Volunteer Guardians Needed!

A legal guardian is a decision maker and an advocate for those who are incompetent due to aging, a developmental disability, chronic mental illness or alcohol and drug abuse (i.e. ward). Guardians ensure that the individual’s rights to proper housing, nutrition, and medical care are met. A guardian is expected to visit their ward at least once a month and complete an annual report. A legal guardian does not financially support the ward, take care of the ward on a day to day basis, nor personally provide a place for the ward to live. Time commitment is based on the needs of the ward.

Volunteers receive training and support from the Brown County Adult Protective Services Unit. A stipend of $15.00 per ward-per month, mileage, and reimbursement for expenses such as copying legal paperwork, postage is available upon request.

Golden House is looking for volunteers to help maintain our exterior spaces. If you enjoy working outdoors, we’d love your help with lawn care and weeding to keep our grounds looking welcoming and well cared for.

Whether you’re looking for a regular volunteer opportunity or just want to lend a hand once, your help makes a difference.

Golden House is in need of volunteers to cover our front desk a couple of hours each week. Responsibilities for this role include directing calls to advocates and other staff, greeting clients and donors at the front door, maintaining client privacy and building security. Training will be provided for this role.

Golden House is fortunate to have many generous donors providing essential items for the families we serve. We are currently seeking volunteers to help sort and organize these donations, making it easier to distribute them efficiently and ensure families receive what they need.

Our Events and Engagement Committee oversees our events including our Annual Celebration, NeighborWorks Week, open houses, and other organizational events.   You would provide logistics, connect us with community leaders, and explore new event opportunities to help bring awareness around our various lines of service.  You would work to foster engagement with the community by sharing NeighborWorks Green Bay's mission of solving housing challenges and building stronger communities and serve as ambassadors by developing relationships with those of similar passions for our mission and service lines.   If you like to develop plans and processes that will help make organizing events easier, help coordinate volunteers, find ways to recognize and celebrate volunteers, supporters, donors, and staff, and make connections with skilled professionals in our community that will help us enhance our mission, we invite you to join us.  

JOSHUA is looking for individuals for their task force who are passionate about social justice and who are looking for a way to contribute to their community by offering and participating in solving local issues. We currently have an active Transformational Justice Committee & Spiritual Leaders Caucus.  In 2024 we will be adding our Housing Task Force once again, along with an Integrated Voter Registration Team.  We are currently looking for leaders to run the Housing Task Force and Integrated Voter Registration team.

Equipped with a stove, oven, microwaves, plates, utensils, and more, our kitchen serves as the heart of our mission to support guests during their stay.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Groups of 1-10 people, including families, companies, teams, and other organizations, are invited to participate in our Meal Hero Program. Volunteers can provide, prepare (either onsite or off), serve, and share a delicious meal with our families. All of our Support Services clients receiving parenting education can request childcare for their appointment. Our childcare volunteers interact, supervise, and play with children in our on-site childcare room. This role is extremely crucial to our programming so that we can better serve our clients by providing them the opportunity to get a break and have privacy for their appointments.

All Support Services clients get to shop in our Little Dear Boutique. This on-site boutique is stocked with baby outfits, diapers, cribs, and everything baby you can think of! As a Little Dear Boutique volunteer, you would be helping sort store donations, restocking the shelves, assisting clients, and completing cleaning or other organization tasks. Our store volunteers love being able to interact with clients as well as get to know other volunteers.
