The Children's Museum of Green Bay is in need of volunteers to help support our annual Holiday Extravaganza event!

Volunteers may assist with the following:

Every Year we gather at Thanksgiving to thank the Lord for all our blessings. This year after you are all done with your black Friday shopping on November 28, 2024, stop by Pilgrim Lutheran Church 1731 St. Agnes Dr, Green Bay, WI. 54304.  At 6pm we will be sorting and bagging the “Mountain of Food” we have collected in the beginning of November. Then on Saturday, November 29, 2024, at 9 am we need Drivers & their passengers to help deliver the food to those who need it.

The Facilities Maintenance Worker supports the home office by performing outside maintenance duties as needed; to support Acts 1:8 Ministry's mission: Equipping Christians to evangelize through kindness.

Help us ring in the holiday season! Each year, Heritage Hill invites the community to attend A Heritage Hill Christmas. As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in creating a magical experience for our guests. You'll not only help preserve our historical village's charm but also create lasting memories for families in our community. It's a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in history while celebrating the spirit of Christmas in a unique setting.

Education Center Decoration

Shift Option 1: 9:00am-11:30am (2.5 hour shift)

Assist in decorating either the main lobby, the event hall, or the Ed Center tree. This will be the first building our visitors will see, so we’re hoping to blow them away!

Hope Care Package Drive

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) needs your support to host a care package drive and help families going through a medical crisis by providing some joy, hope and comfort.  When families have a sick loved one, they often are drained emotionally and financially.  We would like to send them care packages to assist them during their difficult time.  

Looking for companies, schools, churches, families and organizations to host a "Hope Care Package Drive". The collection box will display a list of needs to assemble the care packages to give to families in the community struggling with a medical crisis.  These items will be packaged and given to families who need immediate assistance.

Items needed:  Gas cards, Restaurant cards, Coffee Place gift cards, Grocery Store gift cards, board and card games, socks, blankets, lip balm, lotions, crossword puzzles, kid's toys, coloring books (adult and child), crayons, colored pencils, and totes to put the items in.

Give Gift Cards

Giving to local families that are in a medical crisis with some immediate relief all while giving them some peace of mind!  You can drop off the gift cards at Community Benefit Tree at 1734 Ken Dale Drive Kaukauna. Office hours are M, T, W, and F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Th 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This can also be done as a drive at your place of employment, school, church, etc.

Cards that are LIFE SAVING: Grocery stores, gas cards, restaurant cards, hotel cards, and airline cards.

We have volunteer opportunities to help process items that are donated to our thrift store, such as cleaning the item, checking to make sure all parts and pieces are included, checking to see if in good condition and working properly, and labeling with the proper store code. This is a good opportunity for families and/or groups to come together and support a good cause.

We have equipment that we use at each of our family fundraisers and/or
rent out to the public, that at times needs to be repaired, painted, or created. Along with
re-purposing of items to sell in our Online store. We need individuals
who are good with fixing things and/or good with building/working with wood, crafty, like to paint, etc…

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of painting, mechanical, crafty, creative
and good with wood would be helpful but required.

TIME COMMITMENT: Assist as needed basis for specific projects/repairs.
AGE: 16 and up

Volunteer at Celebrations of Support (family benefits) fundraising events as well as our main impact fund events assisting with raffles, silent auctions, kids games, bake sale, serving food, grilling, etc.

Supplies that Celebrate lives!  We could use your help to assist us with items needed to help our families plan a Celebration of Support fundraising party for an individual and/or their family going through a medical crisis as well as general needs for our families.

Rawhide Youth Services is looking for dedicated volunteer groups to assist with ongoing maintenance and beautification projects at our 700-acre New London campus. This is a great opportunity for corporate teams, church groups, school organizations, or community clubs to work together, enjoy the outdoors, and make a direct impact on the lives of at-risk youth.

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Volunteer groups will assist with a variety of hands-on tasks including:

The Seymour Park Food Forest project aims to help alleviate food insecurity and food deserts within the City of Green Bay by growing healthy local food in this public park in a way that is sustainable, costs less money over time, and reduces maintenance for the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.  It is a pilot project in partnership with New Leaf Foods, the City of Green Bay, and the Seymour Park Neighborhood Association. This project is located at the Frank B. Seymour Park at 314 S Ashland Ave Green Bay, WI 54303.

Volunteers are needed on an ongoing basis to help to plant, weed, water, harvest, and maintain the garden and food forest. Occasionally, special volunteer projects/events may also be held at Seymour Park. We're looking for volunteers with garden knowledge as well as people that want to learn.

Our Imagination Station is a hands-on, open-ended play space where kids build, invent, and explore using a variety of materials. As an Imagination Station Monitor, your role is to help monitor the area, keep materials tidy and available, and encourage safe, imaginative play. You’ll be welcoming families, answering basic questions, and gently guiding children when needed.

This role is available to pick up Tuesdays-Saturdays during museum open hours.

Your attention to detail and dedication will directly contribute to the success of STEM education in our local schools.

Spend some time with one of our awesome residents in a one-on-one setting for games and good conversation. It is very rewarding to have a friendship and interaction with a senior. 

Youth Sports at the Y are game-based programs that teach children (ages 4-14 years) the fundamentals and rules of an individual sport.  The Y also incorporates character development into the program for each sport. Sport schedules rotate throughout the year and include times for basketball, tennis, football, soccer, baseball, and volleyball.

JOB SUMMARY: VOLUNTEER EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

As a living history cultural organization, Heritage Hill State Historical Park takes pride in bringing the past to life and demonstrating things like old farm equipment, blacksmithing techniques and 19th century printing presses for our visitors. But we also use plenty of 21st century machinery behind the scenes to help maintain the park and we need your help to keep our modern machinery running!

JOB SUMMARY

As a team member of Heritage Hill State Historical Park, you will help build a positive working environment as well as inspire, transform and build our community through exceptional cultural and historic experiences. Under the general supervision of the Park’s (Restoration/ Maintenance Manager), (Equipment Mechanic)provides principal support and assures seamless functioning of the (Restoration/Maintenance Department).

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Preventive maintenance and repairs of the park’s golf carts both gasoline and electric.

Preventive maintenance and repairs of the park’s small equipment-including weed trimmers,  chainsaws, riding lawn mowers.

Medium size equipment preventative maintenance-including oil, air, fluid filter changes on a RAM 3500 truck, Genie Ariel lift, Bobcat skid steer, John Deere tractor.

Some basic rust and paint repairs required with the preventive maintenance duties.

Moderate Knowledge of diesel engines, Hydraulics, brake repairs and powertrains a plus however not required.  

Purpose: Assist the Restoration/Maintenance department with the preventative maintenance and repairs to the park’s power equipment.

Key Responsibilities:  

Maintain a stocked toolbox and hand tools in good working order.

Perform preventative equipment maintenance.

Troubleshoot and Diagnose equipment problems.

Determine needed parts for equipment and perform repairs.

The Length of Appointment: Ongoing year round

Time Commitment: 4hrs/week, flexible scheduling

Qualifications: Knowledgeable of small gasoline engines and small equipment repair. Medium equipment repair would be additionally helpful however not required.

Support: Safety training pertaining to this position will be conducted by R/M staff.

Age Requirement: 18 years +

Dress Code: Sturdy shoes, presentable and appropriate clothing for the type of duties described.

Our Family Classes for Newborn-Kindergarten focus on caring for families with littles. Our play-based learning helps children grow alongside their peers while parents get to connect with other parents. 

The class provides support for parents and caregivers to help us all be the best parents we can be. Our instructors create a supportive environment where families are encouraged to play together and participate in crafts, circle time with songs and stories, and play based learning. We are looking for volunteers to help play with our 1-6 year old kiddos while parents get a time to connect and learn to be the best parent. 

Assist with general upkeep and cleaning of The Adventure Zone and You Belong, including: vacuuming, sweeping/mopping, garbage take out, window cleaning, wiping down surfaces and general cleaning.

About one hour is all it takes to provide the lifesaving gift of blood to patients in our local hospitals. Right here in our community, volunteer blood donors are connecting lives and sharing life through blood donation.

Blood donation couldn’t be more important. There is no substitute for blood, so when a local patient is facing cancer treatment, surgical procedures or the uncertainty of a traumatic injury, it’s volunteer donors who help ensure that the blood needed is on hand.

We host three large arts events per year, requiring many  helping hands and creative hearts.We  participate in many seasonal community arts events that would benefit from your creativity and arts related ideas. We are also looking for  arts advocates to strengthen our committees, especially involving volunteer management, fundraising, community engagement and artist support. If you would like to be part of our team we would love to hear from you! Time commitment is variable for events. Committee involvement is typically one hour a month. Ticket Scanners: Volunteers will be given a handheld ticket scanning device. Once they are at their assigned gate, a supervisor will train them how to use. Volunteers scan tickets of fans upon entering the stadium. Groups normally stay 30-45 minutes after kick-off and will then be released by their gate supervisor. Approximate shifts 3.5 - 4.5 hours

Newcap's clients periodically need help moving into their new homes.  We are looking for volunteers to help them do so.  Ages 18+ are welcome!  We will put your name on our list and you will be called when a need presents itself.  Thank you!

Newcap has 3 Interim Houses (Shelters), 2 in Green Bay and 1 in Shawano. One of the houses in Green Bay is for youth ages 10-17 and the other 2 are for families. We are looking for people to do Workshops with the clients. This would include budgeting, cooking, crafts, running a household, etc type of classes. 

We could also use assistance with regular meals made for the homes. Holiday meals as well. 

We are looking for an individual that loves cleaning! Whenever one of our clients move out of our housing we have to clean the apartment before another client can move in. We are searching for one or a group of people to help clean with us. We would supply any protective gear you would like as well as all the cleaning equipment. We look forward to cleaning with you!

Catholic Charities is helping to resettle recent arrivals to the United States and some are struggling to learn English. We are looking for volunteers to help teach the basics, such as the alphabet and basic reading.

We would like to hold monthly booyah sales to raise money for the care of our horses. Since we are a volunteer run, non-profit rescue group, this is a strong need. We are looking for a person or group of people willing to coordinate monthly booyah sales. This includes shopping for the ingredients, making the booyah, and selling it. It is not expected you be the only participant; just the lead. If you are someone who enjoys cooking, working with others, and helping animals in need, we would love to have you join our team.

200 Children are depending on volunteers so they can play ball once it's safe to proceed. Currently we are in the planning stages but continue with our efforts to secure volunteers for our 2022 season. Opening day is June 4th, 2022 and closing day will be August 6th, 2022.
The Miracle League of Green Bay needs able bodied volunteers to assist children with disabilities to play baseball. The Miracle League of Green Bay, a baseball and social program for children with physical or cognitive disabilities, is currently looking for 'buddies' and 'team assistants' to assist our athletes for the 2022 baseball season (We're looking forward to our upcoming season which is: Jume4th to August 6th, 2021). One game will be played per week on T, TH (4, 5:30 or 7 pm) or W (5:30 or 7 pm) plus 2 Saturdays on 6/5 and 8/7 (game times vary). Each child must have an able-bodied buddy in order to play. The minimum age for a buddy is 14 years with all ages welcome! Buddies assist the athlete in any way they may need, yet allow the player to challenge their abilities. They do not have to be experienced baseball players..they simply need to guide and support our athletes as needed. Training will be provided on how to best interact with athletes. We also have a strong need for 'team assistants' who will be responsible for coordinating buddies' attendance on a weekly basis for their assigned team. Laundry Love - Green Bay hosts free laundry washing events for neighbors who need assistance in this area. 

We host these events 2 times a month.

We have opportunities at these events for ages 9-adult.

We need volunteers to assist the neighbors with washing and drying. We can share these different stations with you and see where you fit best. We also serve a meal and need volunteers to assist with that.
