Thank you for your interest in becoming a Zoo Ambassador at the NEW Zoo! Zoo Ambassadors facilitate interactions between our animals and guests, and help our guests make connections to the animals. Zoo Ambassadors learn how to use empathy to connect our guests with animals in the zoo.

Children's Zoo shifts are  typically 2 hours long, from 10am-12pm or from 12pm-2pm. At some times of the year, shift hours may vary. Shifts are available 7 days a week, 365 days a year. After you complete training, you can set your own schedule according to your availability by signing up to supervise the shift(s) of your choice. Must be aged 15+ for this opportunity, unless working with a chaperone. Kids aged 8-14 can volunteer with an adult as partners.

The NEW Zoo is looking for volunteers who are interested in supervising the Giraffe Feeding Experience! 

The Feeding Experience is a daily opportunity for volunteers to be involved in, to support the NEW Zoo. You set your own schedule after training by signing up for open shifts whenever you would like to supervise a feeding sessions. Sessions are typically 2. 5 hours long, with some variation seasonally. 

It’s a great opportunity for those who enjoy working with people – as we’ll teach you how to interact with our visitors and help them make amazing connections with our lovable giraffes, Nigel, Eddie, and Zuri!  Of course, you’ll also get to build some pretty special relationships with the giraffes themselves. Scheduling is flexible.

Boutique: Sort and wash clothing and linen donations, organize and fold/hang clothes, rotate seasonal items, keep the boutique clean and organized.

Childcare: Take care of children while their parents are in programming; shifts are typically 1-2 hours.

Cleaning: Wash windows; vacuum/mop floors; disinfect surfaces; clean upholstery; deep clean kitchens, laundry rooms, and bathrooms; clean rental units between tenants, etc.

Events or Donation Drives: Plan and execute fundraising events or donation drives with support from staff; assist with House of Hope events.

Facility Maintenance: Pick up trash, trim hedges, do yardwork, fix broken furniture, change lightbulbs, etc.

Gardening: Plant, weed, and maintain garden beds and landscaping.

Organizing: Track and sort donations; organize basement storage areas, closets, and pantries; etc.

Painting: Assist with painting interior walls at House of Hope properties. Need not be a professional but painting experience is required.

Support a Parent

Volunteer mentors spend time (2-3 times per month) with parents referred by Brown County Child Protective Services who have identified an interest in having an informal support in their lives. Mentors often spend time helping parents with minor children enhance skills that empower the family by developing household routines, budgeting money, planning meals and shopping for necessary items, connecting them with other community resources, or simply supporting the parent. Matches are based on compatibility and can continue for as long as both parties are interested though the hope would be to have volunteers engaged with their Parent Pal for a minimum of 18 months.

Orientation and training are provided. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Volunteer Guardians Needed!

A legal guardian is a decision maker and an advocate for those who are incompetent due to aging, a developmental disability, chronic mental illness or alcohol and drug abuse (i.e. ward). Guardians ensure that the individual’s rights to proper housing, nutrition, and medical care are met. A guardian is expected to visit their ward at least once a month and complete an annual report. A legal guardian does not financially support the ward, take care of the ward on a day to day basis, nor personally provide a place for the ward to live. Time commitment is based on the needs of the ward.

Volunteers receive training and support from the Brown County Adult Protective Services Unit. A stipend of $15.00 per ward-per month, mileage, and reimbursement for expenses such as copying legal paperwork, postage is available upon request.

Chaperones spend time with a youth in the Pals Program by attending the program’s monthly group activities. The Pals Program is a mentoring program of Brown County Health & Human Services. Children in the program are age 3 or older from a family that has been or is currently involved with Brown County Child Protective Services. The children needing a chaperone do not have an adult who is able to bring them to the activity to allow them to participate.

Volunteers support children in out-of-home care by supervising the family interaction with their parents. The volunteers help to assure a safe and secure environment both physically and emotionally for the children. Time commitment is based upon the volunteer’s schedule and the particular visit selected by the volunteer in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator.

Orientation and training are provided. Mileage reimbursement is available.

Provide valuable behind-the-scenes help with tasks such as administering surveys, organizing files, and assisting shore activities.

Community outreach volunteers assist with expos and farmers market - distributing marketing materials. Join outreach projects that connect Green Bay Sail & Paddle with local organizations, promote inclusivity, and build awareness of our mission.

Supporting the education and growth of local youth is central to our mission. If you speak Spanish, consider volunteering your time to help with our educational initiatives in the Hispanic community.

In our off-season, the majority of our boats are stored in a semi trailer. Once in the spring and once in the fall, we need to unload or load this trailer and are always in need of volunteers for this task.

A few of our boats are stored offsite and there is an occasional need to move boats to a different location locally. We are always looking for individuals that might be interested in trailering a boat or assisting with the launching or retrieval of boats. A good running vehicle with a hitch that can tow at least 2,000 lbs is required

Neville Public Museum is in need of volunteers for our Gift Shop. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Brown County is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization that provides a voice for children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect who are under the legal protection of the court system.

We recruit, train and support community volunteers to advocate on behalf of children under court protection until they are safe and thriving in permanent homes.

CASA volunteers visit the child regularly & submit a monthly report to the judge on the child's safety and well-being to help the judge make important decisions on the child's future. Every CASA works closely with an Advocate Supervisor, on the CASA staff, who provides support and guidance throughout the court process and child's journey.

You do not need any specialized skills to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer. CASA volunteers are 21 or older, undergo a background, child protective services and reference check, take part in a personal interview, & complete CASA volunteer pre-service training.

CASA volunteers are patient, open-minded people from all walks of life who have good communication skills, a history of following through on commitments, and a willingness to accept guidance. Above all, CASA volunteers care about children and their futures!

All volunteers go through an initial 30 hours of training (15 hours of online coursework and 15 hours of in-person training). The training includes sections that guide you through the role of the CASA volunteer, the child welfare system, needs and development of children, trauma, mental health, poverty, professional communication, cultural competence, educational needs and permanency.

Once training is completed, volunteers are then sworn in by a Brown County Judge, taking an oath of confidentiality.

Tax Aide is looking for volunteers for the 2025 tax preparation season (February through mid-April 2026). 

Volunteers work at one or more of our 10 local NE Wisconsin sites to prepare taxes for residents, may of whom are low- to medium-income and 50+ years of age.  Volunteers assist taxpayers in identifying tax forms and documents needed to prepare returns and use IRS-certified and encrypted software to enter taxpayer data to create Federal and state returns.  After completion, a Tax-Aide volunteer explains the returns to the taxpayer.  Tax preparation is done in a group environment.  

Volunteers acquire tax knowledge by attending local Tax-Aide training classes (held in December and January) and through self-study. All volunteers are required to take and pass several certification tests administered through the IRS and Tax-Aide.

Typically, volunteers work two days per week (5-6 hours per day) during the tax season (February through mid-April), in addition to their training hours before the filing season.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide reimburses volunteers for mileage for tax preparation and training. 

Leadership opportunities are available for those interested.   

Volunteering is better with friends, family, and co-workers. Hope Care Package Drive

Community Benefit Tree (CBT) needs your support to host a care package drive and help families going through a medical crisis by providing some joy, hope and comfort.  When families have a sick loved one, they often are drained emotionally and financially.  We would like to send them care packages to assist them during their difficult time.  

Looking for companies, schools, churches, families and organizations to host a "Hope Care Package Drive". The collection box will display a list of needs to assemble the care packages to give to families in the community struggling with a medical crisis.  These items will be packaged and given to families who need immediate assistance.

Items needed:  Gas cards, Restaurant cards, Coffee Place gift cards, Grocery Store gift cards, board and card games, socks, blankets, lip balm, lotions, crossword puzzles, kid's toys, coloring books (adult and child), crayons, colored pencils, and totes to put the items in.

Giving to local families that are in a medical crisis with some immediate relief all while giving them some peace of mind!  You can drop off the gift cards at Community Benefit Tree at 1734 Ken Dale Drive Kaukauna. Office hours are M, T, W, and F 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Th 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  This can also be done as a drive at your place of employment, school, church, etc.

Cards that are LIFE SAVING: Grocery stores, gas cards, restaurant cards, hotel cards, and airline cards.

Our Family Coordinators play a key role in providing assistance to our families. They would advise in the family’s financial sustainability plan, give resources, and emotional support to our families.

Qualifications include but not limited to: Need to have time committed in supporting a family through their medical crisis. Some financial understanding is desirable, along with an ear to listen and a heart for compassion.

Time Commitment: 5 to 10 hours a month, but subject to change depending on how many families we are helping

To assist with the Rental and Online Resale/Re-purpose Store of ecommerce or rental items. Includes taking pictures, videos, pricing, and positioning of items along with downloading them onto the e-commerce apps.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of computers and the ability to learn quickly.
TIME COMMITMENT: Some duties can be done at home and some will need to be done at the Celebration center.
AGE: 16 and up

Must have internet access if posting items for sale.

We have volunteer opportunities to help process items that are donated to our thrift store, such as cleaning the item, checking to make sure all parts and pieces are included, checking to see if in good condition and working properly, and labeling with the proper store code. This is a good opportunity for families and/or groups to come together and support a good cause.

We have equipment that we use at each of our family fundraisers and/or
rent out to the public, that at times needs to be repaired, painted, or created. Along with
re-purposing of items to sell in our Online store. We need individuals
who are good with fixing things and/or good with building/working with wood, crafty, like to paint, etc…

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of painting, mechanical, crafty, creative
and good with wood would be helpful but required.

TIME COMMITMENT: Assist as needed basis for specific projects/repairs.
AGE: 16 and up

Coaches play a key role in instructing the Celebration of Support (family benefit) team
on the programs and tools Community Benefit Tree has to assist in having a successful event. Lead the Celebration Team in the right planning direction.

QUALIFICATIONS: Love planning events. Likes to teach others.  Willingness to travel some distance. Time to help others. Training is required.

TIME COMMITMENT: 5 to 10 hours per month.

Volunteer at Celebrations of Support (family benefits) fundraising events as well as our main impact fund events assisting with raffles, silent auctions, kids games, bake sale, serving food, grilling, etc.

Members share their gifts in service to our mission by providing the organization with their professional expertise, diverse knowledge of constituent perspectives; their connections, resources, colleagues or peers; their philanthropic support or other forms of needed assistance.  The board team has no governing function with the organization.

• Marketing/Fundraising Team – assist with marketing and fundraising.

• Development/Strategic Planning Team – assist with strategic future planning of the organization for growth.

• Review/Governance Team – assist with board governance and internal operations, reviews applications for assistance and oversees the application process.

To serve on the Board as a voting member, to develop policies, procedures and regulations for the operation of Community Benefit Tree Inc., to maintain, develop, and update long-range plans, to monitor finances of the organization, its programs and performance, secure and ensure adequate funds to support the operations, to supervise and evaluate the Executive Director, and to fulfill the Mission of the organization.

TERM: Two year commitment with expected regular meeting attendance.  Meetings are scheduled on the third Friday of each month here at our offices.  Video options are available if unable to attend in person.

We are in need of volunteers to come assist with our Safe Routes to School program.

Every year we go into more than 20 schools educating 3rd graders on how to be safe while walking and riding their bike.  Each child receives a free bike helmet and gets to participate in a rodeo.

We need volunteers to assist with fitting bike helmets as well as supervising kids on scooters.

The ADRC is always looking for drivers for our Home Delivered Meals program in Manitowoc. Each day, meals are delivered to community members who have difficulties leaving their homes without assistance. Deliveries take place from 10:45am-1:00pm. Meal pickup occurs at the Manitowoc Senior Center (3330 Custer St., Manitowoc). As a driver, you will be given a predetermined route to deliver for the day.

Volunteers for our Home Delivered Meals must have a valid driver's license, a vehicle, and a clean driving record, and they must pass a background check.
