CASA volunteers are 21 or older, undergo a background, child protective services and reference check, take part in a personal interview, & complete CASA volunteer pre-service training. CASA volunteers are patient, open-minded people from all walks of life who have good communication skills, a history of following through on commitments, and a willingness to accept guidance. Above all, CASA volunteers care about children and their futures! All volunteers go through an initial 30 hours of training (15 hours of online coursework and 15 hours of in-person training). They do not have to be experienced baseball players..they simply need to guide and support our athletes as needed. Training will be provided on how to best interact with athletes. We also have a strong need for 'team assistants' who will be responsible for coordinating buddies' attendance on a weekly basis for their assigned team.
