Needs From: Volunteer Center of Brown County

Join a dedicated team of trained volunteers from across the country to support communities impacted by severe weather. As an Information & Planning Generalist volunteer you will provide critical insights to operation leadership through the collection, evaluation, analysis and dissemination of operational information.

Deployments are two weeks within the contiguous US, three weeks if outside that area. Contact Lee at lee.borofka@redcross.org for more information. 

When housing is disrupted in communities after a disaster, it can be difficult for some people to find new long-term housing. The Shelter Resident Transition Volunteer help shelter residents create personalized plans to overcome roadblocks and transition to new housing. They play a critical role in reducing disaster-caused displacement and aiding in long-term recovery for individuals. Two-week commitment, travel and lodging are provided. Join now to get trained and gain experience locally so when the time comes you can deploy to national disasters. Disaster Action Team (DAT) members directly help people affected by disasters ranging from wildfires to hurricanes by providing food, shelter, essential relief supplies and hope. Locally, our most common disaster is home fire. The skills you learn locally are invaluable and make you more effective and efficient. Be part of our work to help save millions of lives each year by volunteering as a blood donor ambassador and welcoming donors who give the gift of life.

Blood donor ambassadors welcome donors to blood drives and provide friendly support before and after they give. This can include helping donors to register, answering their questions and assisting them at the refreshments table.
