Who We Are

In 1990 eight De Pere churches together to discuss the needs of our community and donated $100 seed money to form a very special organization called De Pere Christian Outreach.  The FOUNDING CHURCHES: First Congregational United Church of Christ, First United Presbyterian, Hope Lutheran, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic, St. Anne’s Episcopal, St. Francis Xavier Catholic, St. John Lutheran, and St. Mary Catholic.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Caring for the Community through Christ’s Love and Compassion.

With a full-time staff of only one and a part-time staff, DPCO has now grown to over 300 dedicated volunteers to provide three vital programs: Thrift Store (1990); Food Pantry (2012); and the Christmas Store Program (2018).

What We Do

The Thrift Store is located at 506 Butler St  in De Pere.  Profits generated from the thrift store go back into the community. In 2021, actual cash donations of over $314,678 funded over 48 different non-profit organization, over $12,000 in client assistance for gas, rent and utilities was disbursed. In addition, we are also fortunate to be able to share our bounty of items with others such as: local shelters, animal shelters, outreach projects, schools, etc.

The Food Pantry (1827 Chicago St.) started in 2012 to serve over 45 families a week who live in 54115 area code. The pantry is part of both the Brown County Food and Hunger Network and partner with Feeding America.

DPCO's Christmas Store Program was started in 2018 to help provide JOY and assistance to over 175  families living in De Pere during the holiday season.  Families are referred to this program by both the Food Pantry and the De Pere Social Workers who need extra support during the holiday season.
